Text from God # 2

I am sitting in my grandmothers hospital room as she is in recovery from heart surgery. The importance of family has never become so clear to me as it is right now at this very moment.  I am looking at the face of the most treasured woman in my life as she rests and I am immediately reminded of all the times she has given me grace when I did not deserve it, love when I did not need it, and encouragement when I did. She has been the greatest example of what Jesus did and continues to do everyday in our lives. So many of you may not have been blessed with someone that you can say those things about, but I pray that someone says those things about you. Even though families can be weird and aggravating and stressful and downright idiotic, its not our place to walk away or ignore or become so utterly frustrated that we show negligence of emotions. We have to be what Jesus did. I get so frustrated sometimes I literally have to take a step back and look at my family and think that my apple must have fell way off the tree and rolled underneath a different tree because these people are crazy!! But they are mine. My sweet, crazy people that sometimes need grace when they don't deserve it, and love when they don't need it, and encouragement when they do.

Its hard to image life without family, and its even harder sometimes to imagine life with them. But essentially if our goal in life is to be Jesus to everyone, a good place to start is family.
